Individual Therapy

Dialectical Behavior Therapy is one of the most well-researched and effective approaches for people who feel emotions deeply and sometimes find them overwhelming. At its heart, DBT is about building practical skills: learning to move through intense feelings without being swept away by them, navigate relationships with more steadiness, and respond to difficult moments with intention rather than reflex.

For individuals, that means learning to understand emotions, tolerate distress, and move through daily life with greater balance and self-trust. For families, DBT offers a shared language and a common set of tools, helping parents and adolescents understand one another, set healthy boundaries, and break out of cycles of conflict and worry.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach grounded in the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Over time, patterns of thinking can develop that intensify distress and reinforce unhelpful behaviors.

At Grace of Eden, individual CBT helps clients recognize these patterns and understand how their thoughts shape the way they feel and act. Through this work, clients learn to identify unhelpful thinking, examine it more objectively, and develop more balanced perspectives, gaining practical tools they can use in everyday life.

CBT is collaborative, active, and goal-oriented. Rather than focusing solely on the past, it emphasizes present-day challenges and the concrete steps that lead toward meaningful change, helping clients move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of agency over time.

Parent Consultation

Parenting a teen or young adult who is struggling emotionally can leave parents unsure of what to do next. When your child is in pain, it can be difficult to know when to step in, when to give space, what to say, or how to respond without making things harder. Over time, that uncertainty can leave parents feeling anxious, frustrated, guilty, exhausted or disconnected.

At Grace of Eden, parent consultation is designed to give parents a steadier place to stand. While individual treatment may be an important part of a young person’s care, change often depends on what happens at home. We work with parents of teens and young adults experiencing emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other mental health challenges, helping families create healthier patterns of communication and support.

Parent consultation is not traditional therapy for the parent. It is practical, collaborative work focused on understanding your child more clearly and responding with greater confidence and intention. Drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we help parents build skills in validation, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and balancing acceptance with change.

The goal is not perfect parenting. It is helping parents feel less reactive, more grounded, and better equipped to support their child while protecting the health of the whole family. With the right tools and support, difficult moments can become opportunities for clear boundaries, stronger communication, and deeper connection at home.

Concierge Services

A unique offering from the founders of Grace of Eden, our concierge service provides intensive, highly personalized support when individuals and families need it most. To protect the depth and continuity this work requires, we accept only a limited number of concierge clients at a time.

This service is designed for individuals and families in acute crisis, those needing immediate support, and anyone seeking a higher level of care or navigating the transition into or out of inpatient, residential, or other intensive treatment. When a crisis hits, we are reachable around the clock, providing steady guidance and staying involved throughout the healing journey.

We begin by working with each family to understand the situation, needs, and goals. Drawing on our connections with inpatient, residential, and outpatient programs nationwide, we help identify treatment options thoughtfully matched to the client. Because recovery requires ongoing attention, we remain present throughout the process, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical support to both the client and family.

Returning to daily life after a crisis can be daunting, so our work continues beyond placement or discharge. We coordinate with schools and external providers, offer resources and referrals, continue therapy when appropriate, and help create a thoughtful reintegration plan. Our goal is to support a smoother transition while helping progress made in treatment carry into everyday life.

Every journey is unique, and we approach each one with empathy, patience, urgency, and care.
